New York City – Favorite Tipsy Eats

I Love NY sign

First of all, New York City is bubbling OVER with the most fantastic food on the planet! No joke! It is very hard to go wrong, on where to eat, in this city. I have been to NYC numerous times, and there is no way to eat at every awesome foodie spot. It’s clear, per our list below, that we lean toward Italian, in New York, and why wouldn’t we? Hands down, some of the best Italian food that can be found in the U.S. These are our current NYC faves and why.

Juniors Delicatessen –

Juniors serves big, delicious deli-style food. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night options with a bar. Service is quick. Food is good, portions are stupid-sized.

Bleecker Street Pizza –

I know, I know, there is always (and will ALWAYS be) a fight about the best pizza in NYC. Most of your challenges, pizza battles and contests always come back to Bleecker Street Pizza, and I concur. At around $3.00 per slice, you CANNOT beat this gooey, delish, triangle of yummy.

Carmines –

This place is legendary. We have eaten here, EVERY. TIME. that we have been to NYC for the past 15 years, because we always see a show, and if it is at Gershwin, this is a natural, walkable, yummy, New York standard. HUGE portion sizes, and it is family style, so you are going to be splitting. We most often split the spaghetti and meatballs, but the chicken (or veal) parm is our second go to. Great for parties and large groups.

Katz’s Delicatessen –

I am of the opinion that (very similar to pizza slices), no one does deli meat, and deli-style sandwiches quite like New York City. Katz’s is no joke, serving up huge, stacked sandwiches, with pride. There is also some movie history here because of Harry Met Sally – you know the scene. 🙂

Street Hot Dogs –

We ALWAYS get one, I can’t tell you a bad one (or a specific good one! Most are FANTASTIC!), but get pricing FIRST, because some of these carts are really proud (like $15 per hot dog proud!) of their hot dogs. Highly recommend grabbing a street dog though.
